The Iron Maiden: How Advertising Portrays Women
Why is it that our country and moreover our world persistently pressures women to be this or be that? Advertisements don't even show what real women look like, they just portray someones idea of the perfect woman, with perfect hair, teeth, skin, etc. I personally think that it is ridiculous! These advertisements of "the pretty woman" are just a reason for young girls to starve themselves in hopes to one day be that pretty, or be that skinny, or have that clothing. Does our country want all women to be cookie cut outs of each other? What about equality? The typical woman does not look like what the advertisements look like, even the models that are used for these ads are photoshopped into something that they aren't. They have their teeth bleached and go to the tanning bed just to hopefully reach the standards of perfection that they expected to have. The Iron Maiden has brought to light the gruesome truths of this industry and I hope that one day the country/world will understand that all women are beautiful no matter what they look like.

Agreed that little girls shouldn't starve themselves though, but don't blame skinny beans because a lot of these models work out for these shoots & generally look after themselves really well...
If these girls get chosen, It's because they've worked hard for this, as I too was naturally thin when I was younger, you need to encourage people to eat In moderation...3 small meals a day with loadza exercise inbetween...Don't shove blame on these girls just because they've been chosen ;0)
